E3 2021 wrapped and it is prudent to say it was a show high enough and down. The event housed some major ads presented side by side with segments that felt like they did not really match the typical E3 schedule. Despite the clumsiness that comes with the transition from a show that is normally unfolding in person to one online, we still have some of the many ads that E3 is known for.
I think it is clear that it would not have been much of the E3 to write at home without Microsoft and Nintendo. I also count the GEOFF Keight Summer Game Feast as a major contributor, even if it was technically not part of the appropriate E3. It was at these shows, however, that we had the greatest ads.
As for the largest announcement of the entire event, it is a difficult thing to call. Summer Game Fest, for example, gave us not only our first look at the Elden Ring gameplay team, but also gave us an exit date for the game. Then you had Microsoft revealing objects like Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite Multiplayer, and even the output date of the Starfield of Bethesda. Nintendo, who shared another teaser for the breath of the savage 2 and told us that it was targeting an exit date of 2022 for the match.
It was the big, the show reveals that people specifically give E3. There were many other exciting great revelations during the three shows, but if I had to choose the greatest of the event as a whole, I would count all those I just found. If my feet were on fire and I had to choose one who was the biggest revelation of the show, I would probably say that it was the ring of Elden.
The trailer we saw for Elden Ring was much larger than this one, the trailer of the breath of 2 and souls waiting for a very long time to learn more. People have asked more about Elden Ring for so long since Geoff Keighley has even expressed help that he was finally shown this year, proclaiming: “I hope you are happy – I am free! Out of prison! “After the trailer started. We can only imagine how much this poor man was raised by dark rail fans who wants to know more about the Elden’s ring over the last two years.
While Elden Ring has definitely stole the show while launching a kickoff of Summer Game Fest, there were also other exciting ads during this show. For example – and it comes from someone who feels a bit cool to the borders these days – I think the Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands sounds like an impressive concept for a fallout from the borders and I’m excited to see more .
I also think that the tactics of metal clouds look great, but I have always been a sucker for a good tactic game. The child resident of slashgear who has never ceased to think that the dinosaurs are great, I am temporarily excited for the Jurassic World Evolution 2. However, I hope this border goes a little further with the mechanics of The simulation this time.
The XBOX and Bethesda showcase was packed to start finishing with game announcements. I am very excited for Forza Horizon 5, especially after the confirmation we will go to Mexico of this payment. Not only is this American excited to explore Forza’s take a country like Mexico, but after entries in Australia and Great Britain, it is also ready to start driving on the right side of the road.
The Microsoft Conference also announced the outside world 2 in what was probably the best trailer of E3 2021, and that gave us a great surprise when it revealed the release date of Diablo II resurrected. RedFall, which is a future match of Arkane Austin, promising sounds, but of course we must also see the game in action. The conference also brought Word that Microsoft makes the reality of the Xbox Series X Mini Refrigerator series, and I think it’s wonderful.
Then we had Nintendo, which covered a lot of ground too. As I said before, the breath of the wild 2 was undoubtedly the largest part of the show, but of the metroid dread – which served as direct opening – certainly gave a race to his money. The new Warioware match looks fantastic and I know I’m not alone in saying that I’m super excited for the return of advanced wars. It has been far too long since we’ve heard about the Advance Wars series, so hopefully, these remakes that are about to change the signal a more important renewal for the franchise.
While the smaller publishers’ presentations, like Square Enix and Ubisoft, were a little lighter than they are generally, there were still exciting announcements to find during these events. I am very interested in hearing more on the so-called “pixel remembrances” of the first six fantastic games announced at the Square Enix show, while Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope was not just the highlight of the show Ubisoft for me, but a culmination of E3 in general.
I will start this section saying that it was clear to what kind of impact of the pandemic has had on most “participating” companies this year. I’m not saying that as a strike against these developers and publishers – the pandemic has derailed life as we know it for 18 months and that I think it is obvious that many of the publishers who would normally have a group of ads loans At Go for E3 did not have this this year.
Many of these E3 conferences focused on games that have already been announced – or even released – instead of newly new games. We will always see a mix of ads for new and previously revealed games at E3, but as far as major publishers such as Ubisoft and Square Enix are concerned, it looked like the balance that had fallen more on the side of the Games that we already knew.
Some publishers have filled their time with panels and discussions, giving those in the industry the opportunity to talk about some questions or developers a chance to talk about their games deeper. Koch Media, who held his first conference E3 this year, did not have a lot of gameplay sequences on TAP for his show. Instead, many of his show included interviews where developers talked about their games instead of showing them.
Take-two did something similar for its own E3 location; Only he did not talk about games at all. Instead, the two demonstrations were a panel on diversity and inclusion in the game industry. I will admit that when Alan Lewis, who serves as vice-president of the communication of companies and public affairs, skipped on the screen before the Panel responsible for providing a declaration on inclusivity, the cynical thought it was Another company giving mouth service to inclusiveness and nothing more.
I ended up watching most of this group of experts and the people who participated have had a lot of good things to say about diversity in the game industry. I think it was a necessary discussion and the fact that it happened at E3 had a lot of people who would not otherwise have elapsed. For what it’s worth it, I also find fascinating developers’ interviews (when they are well done, at least), so I have not been really disturbed by the fact that there were more of them that usually this year.
Do they feel like good criteria for a show like E3? I guess it’s in the viewer’s eye, but it feels that many of these segments would have been better adapted to something like the GDC, where panels and discussions are more the main call. Am I opposed to see E3 offer a mix of revealing events and discussions in the future? Certainly not, but I will not blame anyone to say that E3 2021 was finally not what they were expecting.
